The wheels I want to get are American Racing's AR913, 18"x8.5" front and rear, I plan on pairing them with Pirelli P Zeros (245/40R18 Y) all around. They'll arrive to me already mounted and balanced. My only concern: I haven't done any suspension work at all but I hope to soon. Will this extra couple inches (diameter) affect my ability to turn and/or general handling negatively? Will I be able to lower a bit in the future with these? Thanks in advance.

Agreed, you'll be just fine. But I wouldn't go with a 245 tire, it's too narrow. I'd go with a 9 inch wheel and 275's. You'll be much happier.
