What makes my wheel wells show so much?
Had some 16's when I first bought the car and they fit the wheel wells perfect. Now I have 18's and tires are 225/40 up front and 255/45 in rear. Wheel wells show a ton. Please help.
18's
16's tire size unaware. Nothing over 225/45 though

1.) Ride height
2.) Tire size
Factory 16" wheels came with 245/50/16s, that might have been the size you had before.
Also why would you run such a narrow tire on that car???
The SS/WS6 cars came from the factory with 275s and even that looked kinda narrow on them...

Stock factory 245/50/16 is.....25.7" overall diameter.
That tire in 18" is......27.7" in diameter.
Thats why there's a visual difference.
Rim size doesn't mean anything......the size of the actual tire does.
TIP: LOWER the car.......

would lowering it 1.25" with bmr springs be a good lowering distance? I live in some bumpy streets and don't want to ruin my piping by rubbing everwhere

My car dropped almost 3 inches with my G2 Super Springs....then I lifted just the rear end about 3/4" with spring spacers......its perfect. I do scrap going over some speed bumps in parking lots but I'm going slow and it doesn't hurt anything.
But it looks great and drives perfectly.
