Wondering about my new tires and wheels.
I just purchased a new set of tires and wheels for my 99 trans am from CAR ID.com. I wondering if anyone out there have used this setup or something with similar measurents. Wheels-Foose Legend Chrome (18"x 8.5" 5x120.65 Bolt Pattern, 72.6mm Hub. Offset +34. The tires are BF Goodrich G-force comp -2a/s(245/40zr18Y. These are the dimensions CARID.com gave me in order to get the "no rub" fit garantee. Just wondering if this is going to work on my car. Thanks, Kevin Mc

Yeah you were right.
They look pretty good," the 3 that UPS delivered!" I think they would look even better with more tire. It was too dark to take pictures tonight but I will take some at work tomorrow so I can post them when I get home. I don't know how to post pictures from my phone to a website, only to my email. The tire size I orignally wanted was 275/40/ 18 but carid dot com wouldn't garanty the fit so I went with their suggestion which I think they went a little too safe, but it looks okay. You live and you learn, The next set of wheels and tires I buy will be exactly what I want!!!

Seems kind of stupid that they wouldn't "guarantee" the fit when Trans Ams came from the factory with 9" rims and 275 tires.
I know it's a done deal now (unless you can return?), but you're better off looking at pictures online to see what you like, and then see what sizes they're using.

BR, Wide tires aren't everything! Wide tire look good from the rear, but from the side they all look the same. Narrower low profile tires actually get better gas mileage and do better in the rain. They are even faster and handle better up to the point of not having enough traction. You know.....where most of us drive 98% of the time.
Don't sweat it, by the time you wear these tires out, you will know if you need wider tires or not.
