Default tell me about hoosier stiff wall slicks on no prep/bad prep tracks

I have been shy of bias ply tires since a bad experience in the 90's

Now i'm told the newer stiff wall, no tube tires are way better and i could easily drive them the 10 or so miles to the track without overheating them.

With poor prep it's pretty well agreed that bias ply is the way to go.
I'm not exactly an old fella, but I've driven my share of miles on slicks and I haven't had a problem. Definitely worth giving the stiff walls a try.

I bought hoosier quick time pros last spring and love them ,night and day difference from the drag radials. Ive driven them around on the street further then 10 miles with no issue.

Nice, thats good to hear. Def leaning to the qtps.

Another question it used to be that you wouldn't consider using radials up front with bias plys in the back....is this still true with the newer stiff wall bias slicks?

I have heard how terrible it is to run bias ply in the back and radials up front... I think people blow it out of proportion. Yes you can feel the back end walk around a bit but it has never bothered me or made me uncomfortable

My cars nothing like your truck, but still ran 97 mph in the 1/8th with radials up front. Didnt seem unsafe or move around much. I got some gto spares with hoosier bias skinnys now so I will see if its any different this spring.
