Slightly taller is probably preferable anyway. If you think of all that weight concentrated on the skinny, higher profile spare, it is likely to lose some of its radius at the contact patch where the tire deflects--even at 50-60 PSI. The factory tires will deflect some too, but much less than the spare. This would be magnified further, if you don't have a tire inflator with you, and by the time you need to use it, the spare is rarely still at the ideal pressure.
BTW, I checked my spare fitment at the front, and NO, it does not fit over the 14" Wilwood 6-piston brakes. Anyone know of a good 19" skinny spare that might fit?

Factory size is about a 3.2 inch side wall.
The 225/60/16 will work fine to get you where you need to go for a proper repair. Just don't go taking corners like an F1 car.
For 99% of flat tires though...just toss a tire repair kit in your car with a small air compressor. They can both be stored out of site in the spare tire compartment along with the spare tire. Plug it, fill it and go.

The only issue would be fitment in the spare tire well. But if you're not concerned about that, then there is certainly no reason not to have a full-sized spare.

If you're going to do a full-sized spare, then 225/55/16 would be a better option because it's much closer to a height match for the stock tires than a 225/60/16.

225 is actually pretty wide for a factory spare rim....wonder how it would seal....

I get the feeling that bad_408_vert was referring to using the stock 16x8 base wheel, not the factory spare wheel, for this.

Has anyone tried a 125/70r16 as a spare. It is 22.9" overall diameter vs stock spare 22.4. And it is available and will fit stock spare wheel. I just ordered one from Tire Rack. We will see how it works.it is a Continental
