Default choosing a tire size. HELP!

Hey Guys need some help in choosing wheel for my 2002 Camaro SS SLP, so I am thinking of 275/30ZR19 tire size all around, oh yeah I will be lowering the car with coilovers as well. Has anyone run that size of wheel and if so can you please send so pictures?
Thanks

I ran a set of 275/30/19's on stock C6 19x10's all the way around and was lowered as well. WORST RIDE I'VE EVER HAD! I couldn't get traction with the 30 series tires, AND every bump shook the whole car violently. Now granted, I was on Eibach springs at the time, and that may have had something to do with it too...it got to the point I didn't even want to drive the car any longer. It took me about a year to save up to step back down to 18" rims, and change over to Strano/Koni lowering set-up and I got my ride and handling back. Going to a 275/30/19 tire was one of 2 major mistakes I've made with my Z over the years...the other was running a set of LT headers, untuned, which I credit, at least partially, with costing me my original LS1 motor.

It did look good, but it truly wasn't any fun to drive. I'm actually back down to 275/40/17 these days because I believe it's the best tire size for street/drag/autocross on the 4th Gen F-Body. I've been on the stock 245/50/16's, 3 sets of 275/40/17's, 2 sets of 275/35/18's, and one set of 275/30/19's over the years with 7 different sets of wheels, so I've got some experience in this area...

You can but it looks goofy on these cars. I wouldnt go bigger than 18, 17s being a good balance of looks and ride quality.

Thanks for your input on this. So I am thinking now to run 275/35ZR18 with Ground Control coilovers instead. Do you thing that will be better for a 4th gen?

Thanks

Yes. Much better than a 30 series 19! On hard launches, I do get slightly better traction with a 275/40/17, but the 275/35/18 only rides slightly rougher than the 40 series 17...

If going with coilovers, I'd suggest 18s. My sons car is on 18x10.5, 315-30-18 all the way around with Viking DA Coilovers. Fronts required a 3/8" spacer. I used the same on rear and had to do some massaging to hump in wheel well. Tires are flush with fenders and performed excellent. Well enough for him to do very well at LSFest AutoX.

The Eibach Pro-Kit in the pic in my previous post on 275/39/19’s I believe lowers the car 1.25”...if you look closely, you’ll notice that the rear is slightly sagging which is also typical of the LS1 Eibach Pro-Kit. However, I’ve corrected that with Strano Springs & Koni 4/3 shocks as well as all the suspension mods to go along with lowering: Relocated LCA brackets and Adj. Panhard Rod. It’s with those additional mods and red light launches I’m referring to about the difference between the 275/40/17 tires and the 275/35/18.

This is how she sits now with Strano/Koni & 275/40/17 Nitto NT05’s on 17x9.5 OZ Monte Carlo rims.

...and this is how she sat on the same Strano/Koni set up, but with 275/35/18’s on C6 replicas...

Imo the 18s even look a little too big. I had 10 spoke chrome 17s and they looked alright, 15s look mean of course...

Thumbs up

I am running 285x35xzr18, 18x9.5 Forgeline rims (46mm offset), on Sara (2001 Z28), she loves them no rubbing at all, stock height, no fender rolling
