Admittedly, I don't want to spend weld money but want the look. I dig the Cosmis wheels but understand that they're not perfect fitment. I have quite the thread on F-Body Empire FB page going with a million different opinions and examples of these wheels on cars and I'm getting confused.
I would like to do a staggered setup 18x10 rear, 18x9 front but the 18x10's in the rear seem to poke out the rear fenders pretty good in all the pictures posted. I'm leaning towards going 18x9's all the way around to get the fitment right.
Questions:
Will these sit flush with my fenders and look good on a prokit drop?
Will they be too far recessed in the fenders or too far out?
Any fitment issues to consider?
Will 295's fit these in the rear? My current set of 18's (rear only) have 295/35/18 in good shape that I would like to reuse for this set of wheels, what width in the front?
I can get a GREAT deal on these through a client and am looking to pull the trigger soon. Hoping to get some solid feedback here before making a decision.
I’m running 18x9/18x10. Run through your questions:
1. They will not sit flush on a stock width rear end. They are less than 1/2” too wide on each side. Probably somewhere between 1/4”-1/2”. They do look good lowered though (no clue how low my car is but I know it’s lowered, probably somewhere in the 1.5” range).
2. See 1^
3. The rear hubs are not correct sized. You need to enlarge the inner hub surface on the wheel or run a small hub centric spacer the same width as the hub. This also makes the center cap not work as intended.
4. Yes. I’m running invo 295/35/18’s and they fit great. Not too wide, but slightly larger than the wheel. Enough that you couldn’t curb them.
For those curious about these wheels (like me), they are now discontinued. Cosmis has released statements saying they are redesigning the wheel to now be flowformed (like forgestars, among others) to be slightly lighter and slightly stronger. They were supposed to be released sometime this year, but no set date on release, or avaliability yet.
So if you want these wheels, youre sorta out of luck for the time being until they come out with the new version.
If they have options with the new model for offsets more friendly to fbodys, Ill most likely get a set for my Trans Am.

I'm curious where did you read that information? Cosmis wheels are flow formed already (one of the reasons I purchased them) making them just as light comparable in size to the forged Weld RTSs they look like.

Was it the USA page or their main? I'm trying to located it as well. Thanks.
It was on their USA page. One of the commenters hinted that maybe weld filed a suit against them (wouldnt surprise me). Hopefully the new ones are offered with better offsets, true 5x120.65 bolt pattern, and maybe better caliper clearance too. One can dream.
Id link the facebook post, but Id imagine the authorities here would not approve. Hopefully screenshots dont get me in trouble
Excellent, thanks for the images. I can imagine they needed to change the look a little because they almost directly resemble the Welds.
yeah, time will tell what the new ones look like (and the price).
Welds new budget friendly Ventura wheel is sorta similar in style to the RTS/S71, but they make the Ventura/Laguna wheels at the forgestar factory in China using their rotary formed process, since weld and forgestar are owned by the same parent company now.
If the new Cosmis xt-005r have good offset options and a competitive price, id be interested. But if not, makes more sense to just get the Weld Ventura which has slightly better offset options in my opinion.

Yes, although I find that the Weld Venturas just doesn't look as nice for some reason. Almost like they are too shallow looking.
