Default 15s vs 17s traction

I am currently debating on 15s or 17s for my car. It's a 1976 Datsun 280z with a turbo 5.3. T56 magnum trans. Hoping for 600+ at the wheels. I like the look of 17s, and there is much better wheel and tire selection. However, I know 15s will give better hook on the street. Car will be 99% street. I don't like the look of mismatched wheel sizes front to back.
Has anyone ever run a direct test between 15s and 17s to know how much better the traction is? I also think the 15s will cushion the drivetrain shock better, but how much?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks

The side wall height will make an impact.
How much? That is hard to tell. Maybe a couple tenths? Guess we should see what kind of 60 foot times people are cutting with 17 inch wheels vs 15s.
