Default What fits???

I bought a 99 Trans Am convertible a couple of months ago
It is bone stock with 16" wheels and tires
I do NOT want to modify the wheel wells in any way
What rim and tire will fit without rolling, hammering ect

PS
Are there any Corvette wheels that will fit a 4th Gen Fbody
Without any modifications

Thanks,
Rob

I think you can go upwards of an 18x11" wheel with upwards of a 315/30/R18 tire on the back. You might have to go narrower in the front or maybe even use a 18x10" wheel. Also, many Corvette rims and Corvette replica wheels can fit these cars.

Thanks for the reply
But, I think you're missing the main part of my question
What will fit without any modifications
I have a 97 Z and I had 17x11s on the rear
But I had to hammer the daylights out of the inner fender and cut the outside fender lip to get them to fit without rubbing

And I know Corvette rims will fit
But do they fit without modifying anything

Thanks,
Rob

I've got 17x11" wheels with 315/35/R17 tires on my car and I didn't need to modify anything. No hammering the wheel wells, no rolling fenders, and no cutting or grinding on the bump stops. As for Corvette rims, some like the ZR-1 rims and C5 wheels will fit without modification. C7's and C8 rims would be another story. Also keep in mind that it's not just the wheels but the tires you run. You can run 335/35/R17's on 17x11" wheels and they will most likely rub where as the 315/35/R17's won't.

I had c5 z06 18x10.5 wheels with a 295/35/18 and had no hammering or spacer needed. When those wore down I went to a 305 and that required a 1/4 spacer but no hammering.

Do you know what kind of off set you need to run this? I'm looking to run 305/35 on 17×11 on the rear and 17×9/9.5 (not quite sure yet). But I'm not certain on how much off set I'd need.

Thanks for the reply, I was able to find the information I needed a few days ago but I'm still thankful for the reply. Now I'm just tire shopping and saving money
