Default 17" front runners

Just picked up a set of weld laguna wheels 15x10 rear and 17x5 fronts. Will be running 275/60/15 drag radials in rear and was going to run a 28x6 17 mickey thompson sportsman in the front to match the 28" rear but am now questioning if the 28" front will even fit. Would i be better off with a 27" or even 26" on the front? I dont want to run into problems from the front and rear not matching the car gets street driven still occasionally.

I always ran 26s up front and 28s in back.

You will definitely run into problems with the ABS/Wheel Speed Sensors with a split of 1-2" in diameter. The max you can go without issues is usually somewhere around 0.50"-0.75", maybe up to 1" but it's borderline. 1-2" is definitely a problem. However, the ABS system can be disabled. Unless it's a daily driver and used in bad weather, there isn't really a critical need for ABS, IMO.

Do not run a 28" tire up front on these cars. Not only does it look absolutely goofy but, chances are, you're going to have some rubbing issues.

A few years ago I went from my typical 26.5" front to a 28", on a skinny front, and it was a huge mistake. It practically ripped the fender liners out of the car and it started rubbing through parts of the lower fender toward the rear of the car.

This was on a 1.25" lowered front suspension with a 28" rear tire. I'll try to dig up a picture if I have one to post, it looked terrible. I understand trying to match for keeping the abs happy, but at that point just don't run a 28" in the rear.

I have a line lock/abs delete sitting on the shelf so I guess its time to throw that in and run the 26" up front. Took some measurements this morning I dont see how a 28 will fit without removing fender liners. I want to leave them in so only options run is to run a smaller front and delete abs or run a 26" rear .

I've only seen 28s up front maybe twice, and they were on super stock cars or something.

Do you need a 28 out back, how fast is the car?

I currently dont "need" the 28" on the rear with all 600whp but will be making a few upgrades this off-season that will let me turn it up and hopefully reach 800whp ish. Mostly doing 1/8 mile no prep

I seem to recall that you can just pull the fuse to disable it. On these cars it defaults to "off" in that state from what I remember (unlike some other models where it will default to "on").

Looks sharp! You can play with lowering the rear at some point.

I have a couple diffrent sets of springs to play with. I had the rear lower but the crossmember for driveshaft loop scrapes coming off trailer so I raised it a little. The 26" tires gave me a half inch lift so I may try to lower it again.
