Stall or gears?
I know with the stall I'll need some decent tires to hook up with, that's why I'm asking now before I buy tires. I don't want to have to buy Nittos and only get 15k miles out of them though because this is my daily driver.
I know a stall will likely net me better gains at the track, but I haven't even been to the track yet with my car in the year and a half I've had it. I just really want to be quicker on the streets with daily drivability. With a stall, wouldn't I really only feel it when I hammered it? Whereas with gears any little acceleration would feel quicker?
Any advice would be helpful, thanks guys.

I mean I still want to pick up some nice gains and I know that a stall would definitely give me that, but I'm just more looking for the seat of the pants feel because the 2.73s leave so much to be desired. I think 3.42s would be a nice blend of performance and still have daily drivability.

I too started out with 273's on my 2000 A4.
After many a search i found that "for me" the Yank SY3500 & some 323's were a perfect combo for my daily driver. Which BTW currently has 170K on the clock with 20K of that on this converter!
Yeah!!! I STILL have the the factory 4L60E. The SY series has a low STR of 1.7 BUT,,, this combo KILLS!!!!
Coupled with my mild cam, Drag Radials my car will stomp "most" M6's / Z06's from light to light!
You simply cannot beat it for what it is!
good luck!
