Default BFG G-Force KD's Suck!

Just thought I'd give you guys/gals the heads up. I just bought some G-Force KD's 315/35's and on the way home I decided to test them out because I've heard soooo much about them hooking up really good. B.S. I broke them loose EVERY time I got on it, even from a punch I also have the G-Force drag radials on another set of wheels and they hook up extremely well but they wear out in about 6 months. My point is if you're in the market for a sticky tire, DO NOT get the G-Force KD's (waste of money), go with some DR's.

how can you expect a street tire to hook as good as a drag radial? I think you need to compare them to other street tires before you say they are crappy. DR's and street tires arent meant to hook the same.

Yeah I mean really. The G-Force KD is a good tire. Obviously with a car thats got close to 400 foot pounds of torque, they aren't going to hook. That's not what they are designed to do...

Apples are good, oranges are good, but they don't compare . . . .

And the tire was new right? You kinda need to "break them in", and I think they'll hook up better after a few more miles.

If you go to BFGs website they'll tell you that the lubricant used in the molding process is in the rubber and the tires need to broken in. Not saying they're great, just don't judge too soon.

Joe even my car brakes loose on the KDs. They are street tires but I got them because they don't wear as quick as the DRs do. After they break in they hook a little better.

I thought the K/D was designed for grip through corners, not the drag strip? Even though it has a much softer tread compound than other street tires, it has a very rigid sidewall that doesn't flex under load, thus allowing very high lateral g's through a corner. Might want to rethink how you are using them... unless you go with 14psi and do a nice burnout before getting on it.

they are not designed to hook....they are street tires, there is no point to be disapointed, they are great tires imo, if you were looking to hook then put on some dr

You guys are right, street tires are completely different from drag radials. This has been my first set of street tires since I bought the car about 3 years ago. I just hope they break in the way you all say they will. Is there a difference between the KD's and KDW's?

That's why I got them, so I can have a pair of tires that last me longer than 6 months and to drive faster than 40 mph in the rain.

AFAIK the only BFG G-Force street tires offered that size are the KD and the DR.I don't think you can get the KDW or KDWS in 315/35s so If a person wants that size in a BFG tire you are stuck with the a small choice .

I've got KDWSs on my car and love them ,they have a 400 treadwear rating , have good grip and are great in the rain. I have about 12,000mi on these tires and have a good 50% tread left!

Oh by the way:

KD= dry weather tire 200tw
KDW= dry/wet tire ? tw
KDWS= dry/wet/snow tire 400tw

I almost laughed when I read this.. You absolutely have no idea what you're talking about..... There are so many advantages to the T/A KDs compared to other street tires its not even funny.

They hook/corner better than any other street tire on the market in dry conditions. Period. Like was said, comparing a DR to a street tire is absurd.

I have KDW's all the way around they are the **** for a daily driven 400+ hp, no they will not hook from a stop or low roll, THEY are street tires. but they do hook in the corners I take some turns @ 60+ to have fun on the way to and from work with no problems

What are you bitching about then? They should at least do that for you. Besides, where are you at? Is it cold there?

This post is as bad as that one when that dude blamed the tires for him losing control and totalling his car at 140.
