I posted those specs as many folks may not know what they are...many think the VW tires aren't load rated for the car...that's not the case, the primary problem is they are not speed rated...

Since you are bound and determined to keep this crusade about the MT tires going... The tire you brought up above isn't load rated for a F-body. It cost 3-4 times more than my "cheap" radial and is bias ply.
The MT 1573* sportsman front runner, which is load rated for a F-body is 19lbs and ironically enough the tire that was on the only Bogart rim faliure I've ever seen.
As far as speed rating, I've seen enough 150+ mph, 8 second cars with the same tire I run. So I crossed that off my worry list.
IMO, the MT Sportsman front runners are WAY over priced and offer no benefit over my "cheap" radials.
The MT ET Fronts are a killer tire, but they are way too soft for street use and obviously not what we are talking about here.

The 1573 is a standard choice for F-bodies. I did mention the 1572 was for only if your lightened up a bit. I should have added the 1573 tire as a standard as most guys aren't lighting up their rides a bit. Your correct on the 1573 weights. I do feel even if your car isn't lightened up a bit, the ~1lb difference between the lessor expensive VW tire is a good safety tradeoff.
Regarding the tire being bias ply, your also correct. This is actually a very good thing. Tracking will be better when matching front and rear tires...since most guys are using MT streets or hoosiers, bias ply is an appropriate tire to use. Per mfg, radials and non-radials shouldn't be mixed on the same car.
Just for the record, for anyone wondering, we don't carry tires, so pushing a line of tires is only mentioned for safety. Being a mechanical engineer, sometimes I am a bit **** I suppose. I certainly don't want to see any of us get hurt.

Wilwaxu and Steve10 - I thought you guys were buddies? FWIW I run the MT 8-ply Sportsman Pro in the front and MT DR's on the street and strip. I will say the car tracks much straighter now compared to running standard radials up front.

I've got radials on the front so what would be the best bias ply tire for the street up front? I'm only plannin on drivin with these tires on the weekend so what would be best? thanks

I have ARP 2 1/2" studs all the way around but they still don't stick out of the lugs so I'm worried about driving on them. What did you guys do to fix this? I don't know where I could find longer studs.
