red calipers?

I’ve painted my calipers several times with red and every time the color disappears. What is the best way to paint it so it will last longer?

Did you clean them real good first and then sand them down so the paint will adhere. I did that and painted them once and they've looked great ever since.

Btw, that was last summer.

clean them with brake cleaner then sand them down...use hi-temp paint...

What kinda paint did you use? I just bought a dupli-color kit from wal-mart but gotta wait till it gets a little warmer around here.

Did some reading in the handling/brake section and it seems the biggest factor is prep work.

If it helps, I painted mine with "caliper paint" from AutoZone. Forgot what kinda sandpaper though.

when i painted mine i left the calipers on. I got a plastic bag and covered the rotors. i sparyed, very little for my first coat on the caliper. waited till it dried, then i sprayed a second coat and so on. took me about 3-4hrs to do it. It's still there. btw, i used caliper paint - good to 900 degree's i believe. Good luck
