Potenza RE730 vs. Kumho Mx????
Right now I've got the RE730's on my car (they're almost brand new, moron who owned it before me likes "low profile" and put 245/40/17 on it with stock rims and height).
Waiting on my new EVO's to come in and have to get new tires (18"). Done a lot of reading here and think I'm gonna go with Kumho MX since a local chain sells them for a couple dollars more than the 712's (pm if u wanna know who, it's not a sponsor).
Anyway, I'm not very impressed with the 730. Don't know if it's cause of the size or what but they don't hook at all on dry pavement (great on wet). A lot of old posts, thanks for the search fuction, rave about the re730.
Am I going to be better or worse with the MX'S? (275/35/18)
Any body had both that can compare?

If it's a street car, worry about it hooking on wet pavement. There really are no street tires that hook decent on dry pavement, except for drag radials of course. The Goodyear F1 GSD3's are supposed to be next best to DR's, but they're pricey. I would pick the Potenzas if I were you.

The RE730's are discontinued. Just looking for a comparo between the two for dry traction. Not too worried about wet traction; if it's wet out I actually listened to the weather man's "sunny all day" speech! Luckily have a dd for the wet/foul weather.

The MXs are pretty good tires. I had a pair on the front, Nitto DRs on the rear and placed 2 sec. behind the winner at one of our local auto crosses and he was on race tires. I say they are worth the money, I wouldn't even consider the 712s as they are crap.

I've been running MX's all the way around on my car. They ride great, they look great, and they are really good for auto crossing. A good value for the money. But they don't hook. I'm replacing them with DR's because of that.
Sorry but I don't have experience with the RE730's
