Default Tires for stock wheels: advice

I have stock 245 50 16's and I am going to get new rubber (I am going to keep the stock rims). The car came with Goodyear GSC and I like the way they grip. Dry grip is what is most important for me. I don't want to replace them with GSC since they are phasing them out. What would be a good replacement that would perform as good or better than the GSC? I hear good things about F1. I know little about tires, any help is appreciated.
