traction problem

Default traction problem

i have 18in rim 8in wide and some 245/40 junk tire that do not get traction....i know i really need to get smaller and fatter rims but im stuck with these for now : ( I was wondering what i should go with for the best traction and how fat can i go on the rim? 245 is to small way to small! any help would be great!!!!!

i wouldnt go any wider than 275 or 285. as for tires, well youve got to decide what your budget is and how many miles you want to get out of the tires.

If you don't like the wheels, do you really want to put decent tires on them? You can get a set of SS or zr-1 wheels & tires online for around $500-600 usually. A good set of tires in a stock size would cost that much.
Have you looked into any suspension/chassis pieces? I hear torque arms really help, as do lower control arms & re-location brackets.

take some air out of the tires u should get more grip

I would go with some better tires for one. Maybe some drag radials

ok alot of imput but im interested in what kind of drag radials do you guys prefer and what lasts the longest. im dont think i can even put a 275 on an 8in wide rim plus its an 18in wheel????????? maby a 255 i dont know

Not sure if they come in 18's but Nitto 275's will fit on an 8 inch rim, Nittos usually run small and get good traction.
