Default Tires for my SS

I wasn't sure where to put this so I threw it in here.
I was wondering what is the biggest width tire you can put on the slp SS rims I think there 9.5in wide and right know I have the stock 275/40 17's that came with the car but I am most like going to replace the back ones this summer

I belive the largest you can put all the way around without any clearance issues is 285. Some people have put 315 on the rear but on the stock rim with it's kinda pointless because the tire bows. The ideal rim with if your gonna run the 315's is 11 inches. If you go the 315 route you'll need to beat the inner fender a little to get proper clearance.

Most people use the 315s for looks. I have 315s on chrome ZR1s 17x11s and I get a bit more traction as opposed to my 275s, but the added weight and rolling resistance really does take away from the car. I have just plain BFG comp T/A Zrsnot drag radials. I can really tell the difference in acceleration when I have the 315s on. I get a little better traction but it feels like I am racing with two more people in my car.

I was thinking of putting either 285 or 295's on would this be a problem?

Most of the aftermarket/replicas are 17x9.5 though.
But either way a 285x40 is fine on them. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
