Default 275's on 8 inch wheel?

Can I do this? I've heard different things, so trying to get more opinions. I was wanting to get some 275 Nitto, but only have an 8" wheel.

Would you guys recommend this or should I stay with a 255? Thanks.

I'm failry sure a 275 is not recommended for an 8 inch rim. What's the overall tire size, 275/40?

I have personally run a 265 width tire before on a 7 inch wide rim, but the profile was a 50 series so the sidewall had some flexibility. You won't gain a whole lot of width between a 255 and 275.

Yeah it's a 275/40 I was just wanting a little bit of a wider tire, but you don't think there will be much difference there? If not, I will just stay with what I got then. Thank you.

If it's a traction issue, I would doubt the 275 width alone would help much, if any.

It's partially that, but was looking for a better look also
