Default Atention: Everyone that is running a Nitto drag radial 315/35/17 on a 17X9.5 wheel

Hey all:
Well I just purchased a set of 17X9.5 Privat wheels. I have a set of 4 Fuzion 275/40/17 tires that have 300 miles on them from my last set of wheels.

I need a tire with traction and the Nitto drag radial 275/40/17 is alot smaller then my Fuzion tires and you can tell the fronts are bigger then the rears.

Well I talked with a few shops and even rim places and they all stated that the Nitto drag radial 315/35/17 will fit just fine and I will have no problems. Infact 2 of the installers had them on there cars with the Z06 17 X 9.5 and they looked real good. Just a very slight buldge.

I know Nitto makes there tires small.

So give me some input PLEASE.

Have you had any problems at all. Are they wearing faster? Any problems on corners ect?

Thanks

That size is the problem. Nitto drag radial only comes in either a 275/40/17 or a 315/35/17.

Hurry up and say what you want to say on this subject because the mods are going to delete this thread. Evidently, they have a problem with people discussing 315's on a 9.5 inch rim. They delete every thread that is started on the subject.

It's a taboo subject, . . . . . . . .but it's not that safe, and it doesn't buy you much performance.

Nitto says it's not safe...hell, they'd make more money selling 315's over 275's, so I'd guess they have a pretty good reason for not wanting you to do it...

They don't want you to do it, because if by some random crazy chance something went wrong, they'd be in huge trouble for saying it was ok. They would lose a ridiculous amount of business from some bad rep like that, and they end up making more money if nobody ever has a problem with their product.... so they recommend only the safest of combinations

People drink and drive often too . .

Does that make it OK???

I don't think so, so why encourage bad practice.

Weather you like it or not, I'm looking out for my fellow F-Body enthusiasts.

Sorry you feel it's BS . . .
