I'm assuming you still haven't decided yet? How about a comprimise? Do one side black and the other side polished. You can only see one side at a time anyway.
I saw a Porsche with 2 completely different style rims on each side. They were exactly the same size, but totally different looking. It was pretty cool.
Maybe just do a quick spray can paint on one side and then drive around a while and see how you feel about it. If you don't like it, paint thinner it off. If you do like it, still remove the paint and have them painted or powdercoated more professionally.

I'm still pretty good at keeping up with the polishing, so I think I'm going to wait on having it done. At just about $100/wheel for powdercoating I think the money can be better used on something else at the moment.
I have seen cars with different wheels on each side, but I think it's ghetto. I like everything to be symmetric.

Have you guys seen the new center caps ARE came out with?

The new style Bonneville Flat Cap is my favorite. I'm making my own of aluminum plate that is like the old style. What's cool about the flat caps is that it makes the dish look deeper. It's badass.

Here's what I'd do:
Go with option #2, but instead of powdercoating the spokes black, paint them with this:

Then, get a set of these in the smooth style and paint them flat black:

The main problem with black wheels is that unless you're looking at them up close, the actual design of the wheel gets "washed out." From 15 feet away, a car who's wheels are black with polished lips looks like it just has two hoops floating in mid air inside the wheel well. If you put black chrome paint on the spokes, this contrasted with the flat black paint on the wheel discs will subtly make the design of the wheel show up again, but still achieve the "attitude" that black wheels exude. Just an idea.

I say if anything, polish them up real nice and have them clear powdercoated or have the center and cap powdercoated black then clear powdercoat the whole rim so no more polishing the lips. $0.02

DO NOT CLEAR POWDERCOAT YOUR WHEELS!
I had a set of raw polished Z06's...beautiful wheels. I didn't feel like polishing them all the time so I had the clear powdercoated. When I got them back the wheels looked dull and looked in need of polishing, but guess what? I couldn't do **** about it cause you can't polished a powdercoat.
Then 2 weeks later the powder cracked from the inside out. I ended up getting assed out and had a set of polished Z06 wheels that looked like they were painted silver.
