Default 17" to 18" need to lower?

I have seen a lot of pics here of those that just got 18" wheels. Most of them look like the car needs to be lowered. Is this the case?

I am at stock on a 01 SS Vert. 275/40/17
I want to go to an 18" wheel, but do not want to loose the stance. Will I need to lower?

In my opinion, yes.

Here are a couple of pic's. We put the same kind of wheel and tire combination of both of these Camaros. The Hugger Orange Z/28, we lowered. The 2002 red SS the customer did not want it lowered.

I have always been told that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Hope these pictures answer your question.

Thanks for the pics!! I was only going to keep this thing for a couple of years, but I keep tossing more money into it.

I would definitely recommend that you lower it.
