Some one had to give that answer of course. I mean a rubber mallet or a metal one (like a small sledge)

5 lb sledge, and finish up with a nice 20 oz hammer. Nothing like whacking your precious car!

Should you test fit and see where they would rub - or just whack away cause they
will rub for sure?

Can't wait to see pics. But that is odd that they are rubbing. They didn't rub on my car or the original TA they came off of??

A buddy of mine had a thought. Is your car lowered? If so, your rear end might not be centered.

not it's not lowered, up until the wheels came, the only mods were the cags delete and the Z06 brakes I put on.

Bilstein suspension is lower than "normal" stock. That could be it as well.

Hey Shane, I noticed over on ls1.com you said you had a hard time getting them to clear you LG C5 brake upgrade. What happened there?

The 17" Boyd wheels have (or at least had) a narrow wheel center, and they did not clear the cooling fins cast into the outside edge of caliper. I had to grind off the caliper so they would clear the rim hoop.
Once that was done, they still didn't fit because the front of the caliper hit the back of the spokes... I have to run a 1/8" spacer to clear the spokes. Some day, I'm going to call Boyd and see about ordering a new set with a custom center that will clear the calipers without needing a spacer...

Hopefully I don't run in to the same issue, but something tells me I will. I have the same brake kit, with the exception that I used the Z06 calipers.

Well, I certainly hope you don't.

*If* you don't, please let me know so I can switch over to the c5 calipers...

Good news and slightly bad news. Good news the caliper ribs clear the inside of the wheel. Bad news is the front doesn't clear the very edge of the spokes, the silver lining here is that the clearence issue is less than a few mm's. I might be able sand it down and succesfully clear the back of the spokes without a spacer.

My question is how much material can I remove? This is the actual face of the caliper, it had has to be unifrom accross the face. How much clearence should i have between the caliper and that point in the wheel?

I removed so much material off of one of my calipers that I could see the brake pad. Has held up fine for many many miles. I don't suggest you do this as I did it on accident but you should be okay to remove enough where it doesn't rub.
