Default Largest size street tire for 16"

What is the biggest size tire you can run safely on the back of a T/A with stock 16" wheels and without worrying about hitting the wheel-well? This is my daily driver and I will just be buying a nice set of street tires but I want them to be big and aggressive looking.

I would go with a 255/50/16.

Right now I believe I had 245/50/16 on the front and rear and they are small to me. I believe a friend had some 285's or something of that sort and they look awesome on the back.

Anything wider than 255 will not fit on a stock 16x8 wheel safely.

I've seen 275's but they buldge alot

Ok, so the 255s wont look any fatter than my stock ones will they? I just wanted that mean stance from the rear without changing out wheels.

I have heard awesome things about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires and they are very reasonable. I think I am going to try out a set for the rear sometime soon once I decide on the size.

Tire sizes are measured in millimeters so the 255's are going to be 10 mm wider than your stock size tires. They'll look fatter.

Ah ok, thanks. I am not very familiar with how the tire size chart equation works.
