Yeah they have an aggressive tread design!

Do you know if they are summer tires or all season?

The AFS black chrome ZR-1 style wheels I ordered will be here Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing the car4 with them mounted. I am wondering about the tires, though. Goodyear put out the Essenza EV0-Z tires. They're rated 420 for wear and traction/heat ratings are AA/A. That's the tires which come on these wheels.

Anybody know anything about them? I have serached discounttire.com and tirerack.com ... these tires aren't listed ... Hell, I can't even find anything about them on Goodyear's site ... ****! Anybody got a link for information on them? They W-rated (up to 168 mph).

I considered the maintenance of the wheels, among appearance and a few other things. IMO, it would be a bitch cleaning around all those little rivet heads on the Z06 wheels. That alone helped me make up my mind. On my Trans Am, I'm chainging out the Chevrolet center pieces with my Trans Am ABS centerpieces ... or maybe some aftermarket centerpieces.

Plus, I think the ZR1 wheels look better hands-down ... just my opinion.

i had the same problem, it was a little bit easier for me to decide though cause i have had my z06's for 3 years now and nobody really had them back then, still don't see many in my area, but damn there is a lot of them on this forum. just look at it this way, zr1's came on ss's stock and there are lots of them on z28's as well. so it would sorta be like taking the c5 wagon wheels off and putting the c5 y2k's on knowbody would really notice the difference. i guess i am trying to say that you get the "whoa" factor more often from people that don't know too much about c5s or fbodies with z06's as you do with zr1's.

They are a renamed Goodyear GSD2's, Look on the Goodyear site and look at your tires, same thing.

They're not exactly the same as the F1 series, GS-D2's OR GS-D3's, but, they do have a VERY similar tread pattern and are rated a little differently. Did some thorough research and 'yes' you are very close. I took off GS-D3's from my front corners tonight and the tread pattern is different, but, very similar.

As for the the difference in the car's overall appearance, these AFS black chrome ZR-1 wheels with 275/40/17 tires look a lot better than the old chrome 5-stars with the 245/50/16's.

Anyone want pics ... just IM me and I'll send you some with the new wheels on. I'm taking pics tomorrow in case anyone wants to see what the wheels look like.

Well, you'll pay a LOT more for them off thier website. The Ebay price I got was $1,095 plus $139.00 shipping and $8.00 ... no tax 'cause it was an Internet order .. Total was $1,242.00. The Goodyear Essenza EVO-Z tires are rated 420 wear/ AA dry traction / A temp ... stick in the rain as good as my old GS-D3's did.

I'll email you with pics tomorrow will69camaro. It rained like hell today, so, I'll wash the car tomorrow and get you some good digital close-ups of the wheels. Anyone else want pics?

Sent pics to your email accounts for those of you who requested pics. They'd look a lot better if they were Armorall''d, however, I turned my car in today for a H/C upgrade and forge work ... and some other stuff ... didn't want to Armorall the tires, knowing it will go up on the dyno after the work is done ... need good traction for the dyno.
