ws6 wheel problem
ws6 wheel problem Ok some people are saying the 2000 WS6 wheels are polished from the factory? Whatever the outside of the rim is coated with be it chrome or just polished aluminum is flaking off. So I took my car to this polishing/plating shop to have them look at my rims and they said they were chrome plated from the factory and it is flaking off in a few spots on all of the rims. 
They said they will have to dip the old stuff off of them and re chrome them or polish them out.....
My question is, 1) are they lying to me? and 2) if they are not lying which route do I take? re-chroming?

from what I have heard though the 2001-02 wheels are different from the 98-00 wheels. You may have a clear coat but I am not sure mine does

They're polished with a clear coat. Those guys up at the chrome platers are lying. What you should do is have the clear coat stripped off and just run them like that. They're gonna look really shiny for awhile, but they're gonna oxidize real quick. Or you could get them reclear coated.

they are all polished, not chrome..
thanks guys for all the replies.... I think I am going to strip the clear off of them, and get them looking good and then sell them because I bought some TT2!
