In my view it's because were used to seeing them on imports. I think it gives the car a purposeful, aggressive look, a nice break from the bling. Its also good to see something bsides the Zr1, Y2K, C5 Z06, TT2s, etc. Nothing wrong with those but it's good to have other choices. And one would be hard pressed to find another streetable wheel that's better at keeping the unspung weight down.

Centerline has some models in that weight range for much less...

See if you can get a full set of the rebel model $199... Really light... Closest thing to their storm model for imports which are as light as a SSR..

When will Centerline ever start selling painted wheels? Personally, I'm not into polishing anything any more just don't have the time. And by the time you add the cost of powdercoating or clearcoating you may as well buy the SSRs.

I know many on this board feel differently but to me, the SSR Competition is also one of the better looking wheels for Fbodies especially in the anthracite finish.

Here is a FWD cenerline in a "black pearl".. Looks like anthracite...

They are doing it. Its just more a popular finish with the import/Sport comp/ and euro car guys than the domestic enthusiasts... So not too much in the RWD end of the catalog has any of coated finishes from the FWD stuff.

If you go factory direct and happen to want something they have too much of you will be well under the SSR price with your finish...

Yeah I've been looking at their truck wheels for my Sierra, but haven't seen anything I like for the F-Body. I like the fact that the SSRs are light but I think it would also be a good look on a TA. I ended up getting some C6 wheels in Competition Grey for now.
