thanks again for the input guys

i have definatly been doing more research
and its a good thing i dont have to pay like 3k for wheels cause when you only make $8 an hour, thats like 5 months of income

if push comes to shove ill just lower my car and keep the stock wheels, cause they dont look bad

I agree with everything said on here. They are very difficult to keep clean and polished. They don't seem to keep a shine for more than about a week or two....if the weather is dry. Wet weather vs. Boyds means you have a lot of work ahead of you.

Check out the pics below which is the result of about 1 hour of work on the wheel, including Mother's Powerball and hand polishing.

I payed $1020 for all four 17x9.5s new from Boyd about two years ago. I guess they were worth that much, but I wouldn't buy them again just because of they upkeep.

I do get lots of compliments on them.

Keep in mind that this problem is not solely related to Boyd wheels. ANY bare aluminum wheel will have these same issues. You can always get them clear coated, but you will loose some of the shine.

I have my set of 18" smoothie II's with tires that I could sell you, or they will just sit in my garage all winter cuz i live in new england. I'll give you a good price if your interested, they do need another polish soon, I just moved back from Florida and they need more upkeep here.
