99 Stock heigth Trans Am Wheel Options
Hey guys I'm new here. Here's my situation. I have a 99 Pewter Trans Am A4, 3.23 bone stock with a ram air hood. It's not the ws6 model. I have the 16' chrome wheels and one is bent. Rather than replacing it, I would like to either buy a set of 17's or 18's. I have absolutely no intentions of lowering the car. So I'm wondering what you guys recommend as far as stock ride height. I'm looking at around 1300 max with tires shipped. I know that is cheap but I don't have a fortune to spend. The wheels I've been considering are polished z06 reps, but also maybe c5 reps, torq thrusts 2's, and I am really liking the new American racing rebel. If anyone knows of any places that have good prices please let me know. Also, do you guys recommend 17's or 18's for stock height?

With the c5 replicas, 17x8.5 / 18x9.5 and using 245/45/17 and 275/40/18 tires, the front is .1% different (smaller i think) and the rear is only ~2.4% off on the speedometer, so there is not a whole lot of size difference there. You are making up the difference by using a 40 series rear tire vs a 50 series stock. You end up with more wheel height but less sidewall height. It will work out to be close, or you could use 35 series height in the rear, but they might be too small.
