Best street tire?
Best street tire? What do you think is the best street tire (no drag radials)?
Take into consideration, mostly traction, but also wear, noise, handling, wet weather.
I'm looking for the best Florida tire for my new heads/cam setup. But, I don't want to get drag radials.

1 for the Bridgestone Potenza
Jus from ridin in a friends 300zx, these tires just hooked, i know its a 6 cyl.
and not an 8 but even though just to get the wheels to break lose he had
to dump the clutch at high rpm's.
also the grip on the turns was awseome too =)

I had a good experience with the BF Goodrich KDW They handled great, traction was better than the Bridgestones that were previously on the car. They wore quite well, and the wet weather performance was the best I've ever experienced.
Goodyear's...the only bad thing you can say about them is that their expensive..bu then you do get what your pay for....and if yur dont beat one them you'll get well over 25K..or at least i did..mind you they were spent by then but they did have tread...
I don't think there is ANY "best" street tire, it's all about what YOU like in a tire.
I have the KD, and they are stick as all get out, but are VERY noisey . . .

I have Kuhmo Ecsta MX's , OK for a cheap tire, but heavy, hard to balance, noisey, but pretty sticky . . .

I've been running the GS-D3s for almost 2 years now. I'm very pleased. They are much quieter than the original F1s and they handle better in the wet than the original tires did dry.

Brett Foote The only tires I've had so far are the stock Eagle F1s and Dayton daytona ZRs.
The F1s weren't impressive (as you all know).
The Daytons handled and hooked up (more traction) better than the stock F1s. But, they're more noisy, and only lasted about the same as the stock tires (18k miles).
On the plus side, the Daytons were dirty cheap. $400 installed total for all 4 tires. Not bad for a Z rated tire.

I like the BFG KDWs
haul *** in the rain no problem
dry traction is actually pretty good for me
wear is amazing, I have 60+% left on 2 of them with over 30k miles.
(the other 2 were shot b/c of a bad alignment)

I live in the Seattle area. This is a good tire for this climate. They are much quiter than the factory F1's. Quiet, good ride and stick on wet roads very good. They are good at letting you know when you are at the edge. Easy to control in a drift. If I didn't drive in wet weather so much I would put on a set of Nitto 555's.

get Fuzion ZRis great wet weather traction and are better dry than F1s (speaking from having both F1s and Fuzions on my car, id deffinatly buy Fuzions again ~120 each)

Try Falken's 451 The Falkens are AA traction rated and they are quiet and handle good. Just make sure to rotate them every 6k miles or they will get noisy. I love mine and bought them through America's Tire Co. Check out Falken's web sight and America's Tire Co. will always take care of any issues!
Can't say I've used the really expensive tires, but I used to like the Firestone SZ50's for wet and dry traction. Then I heard they were going to stop making them(I still see them around now, so maybe they still make them), so I bought Dayton Daytona ZR's and they have been a great tire. I had 19k miles on the car when I put the Daytons on and now have 34k and they still look like there is 90% tread. That includes alot of passes down the 1/4 mile before I bought the stall converter and now have to use drag radials.
