I think that was their folly, using a 3 series for the test. They should have used a Z06 Vette, something with a lot more horsepower and grip than the Bimmer. If the tires perform well on the Vette, you can be damn sure they'd perform great on lesser cars.

I've had to replace a set of 712's every year. So I have tried Kumho ECSTA ASX. They work well in light snow and corner predicably. The Sumitomo HTR Z II's work well enough in the dry, okay in the rain and track evey road imperfection. My WS6 had Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical's on it when I got it and they were dangerous.

GS-D3's. But they don't like the cold. and really don't like snow.

I have F1's on my car now, they're great on dry roads. I think next I'm going to try something a little more all-season like Kuhmo Ecsta or Pirelli Pnero Zero.

Kumho Ecsta 711 are good what came on my new 94 formula Traction was never a problem with them 255/45/R17's, Noise ummm not shure cannot hear it over my exhaust anyways lol, Handling on them is great, wet weather traction is ok but it spins them loose pritty easy.

Good tire tho for only $100 a tire from Discount tire's
