Default MT ET street radials

Just ordered a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street/drag radials. Anyone ever used these on a street car? How are they in the rain? How do they launch at the track?

Tolerable in the rain if you act like you've got some sense. Hook like a three dollar hoe at the track.

Nice ... thanks guys ... and that launch pretty much says it all. The MT informational documentation says you barely have heat the tire ... how many seconds 'til you feel them start to 'pull down'?

I got caught in an absolute down pour coming home from my first 3 passes with them. Let's just say next time that happens I will get a hotel. It took me about 3 hours to go 60 miles, worst ride of my life. Light rain they will probrably be fine, but an all thunder storm, no way in hell.

What he said! They work Awesome at the track(and in the street!) just dont go to far if they're callin for rain! I will say that they're better in the rain than the BGF's on my mustang.

I barely heat mine and they hook great. I roll through the water box and spin the tires as I had towards the line. Just enough to clean all the junk off em. The only time I broke them loose was when I tried to launch off the rev limiter. Other than that, no spinning or anything.

I was afraid with that tread pattern they would be like ice skating, if it came a downpour. I gave it a lot of thought before buying them. Since I don't drive it long distances (unless it's to a distant track ), I figure I'll be OK. About 3 months ago, I was driving on the interstate and it cam a HEAVY-*** downpour. GS-D3's on the front and nearly slick Nitto's on the rear corners ... it was scarey as **** at only 50 mph ... dancin' all over the place. I had to stop and drop the air pressure down to 14 lbs and then it wasn't so bad.

After that experience, If it rins with these new MT's, I'm pulling over 'til it stops. With putitng so much money into this car, I'm always afraid somebody's gonna' hit me and total the car. That would hurt ...

yes i know all about FL's 3pm spring showers they seem to have daily they suck was down there working couple years ago in lakeland area and i got to experience them first hand
