Default Sleeper Skinnies

I found a reputable shop that can cut out a piece of my 98-00 rims and weld in a smaller piece to make them 17X5.5 or 17X6. The want $150 per wheel.

I will then need 205 /55/17 tires or 215/50/17 tires. I can't find any skinnier tires with the right diameter or else I wouls get the rims cut skinnier.

I really want it to look like stock. I also think this will be more streetable than skinnies.

Is this to much $$$?

Do you think there will be any issues?

Thanks!

I think I'm going to wait until after X-mas. I will definately post pics. I know I could probably get real skinnies for better performance, but I want the car to look stock. I know a WS6 isn't really a sleeper, but the more I can keep it looking stock the happier I will be.

I will weigh them before and after I ship them.

Cop Car - I already have MT ET Radials and they don't have any wider tires for 17" rims. I think the compound out weighs going to wider non MT tires.

I've seen some chrome 16" T/A wheels narrowed to 3.5" maybe. They looked really good. Post up some pics when you get them back.

I wonder how much of an adapter you'd have to use with those rear wheels?
