Default Show me your tires!

Hey, if you guys dont mind, I need some pictures of different tire sizes on 17x8.5 rims and 18x9.5 rims. Currently I'm running c6's that are 17x8.5 +56mm (245/45/17) and 18x9.5 +58mm (275/40/18). Obviously the tires are too tall. I'm looking to get new ones that are shorter and perhaps wider. I was looking at the "Does this fit" sticky and I saw that 255 and 275 is the widest that it says i should go. I know i can fit wider tires on my rims ( i think, although, please correct me if i'm wrong ). What do ya'll recommend since my rims are different sizes? They look great now, but the tall tires are just making my rims look too small. I was thinking like 265/40/17 and 285/35/18. But I dont know how that would look. So please provide all pictures of your tire/wheel setup and all information regarding them. Even if you just have a 18x8.5 please feel free to post b/c you still have 8.5 wide rims! I would also love some pictures of different tire sizes on c6 rims too. Thanks!

( btw the slight difference in tire height with the different size rims doesn't matter as long as the height ( the middle part of a tire size ) stays within 5 of each other. )

I have the ZO7 wheels from Corvette Garage. Fronts are 18x9.5 and backs are 18x11... 53mm offset. The tires are are 265/35/18 and 295/35/18. On the 9.5 wheels, you could safely fit 285's with no issues if you so desired.

Should be able to fit 285/35s on the rear with little to no problem. They might buldge a little bit, but they should still work. Now if you were wanting to go with 295+ then you might have a problem.

hm, i'm not too worried about the bulge. i just dont want to get tires that wont fit the rim.

what do you guys think about the my fronts though? You think I can safely put on 265's? I've got 245's on there now and i would love to put on a wider tire without compromising the fit.

Also, the sidewall height is another problem for my front tires. i dont want them to be too tall but i have to kind of keep the wheels around the same dimension. I have 45's on i was thinking 35's or 40's with the 265.. ( Cos i've lurked here and know that it'll screw up my abs if they are drastically different sizes ... unless i can just drive with TCS off, which then who cares?) ( also dosesn't the spedo get the speed reading from the rear tires? )

18x9.5 ( 275/40/18 ) in the rear

17x8.5 ( 245/45/17 ) up front

Thanks for all your help! this board rox

and yes, i know it needs to be lowered badly

On your fronts you should be able to throw 265's on there. As for height, the 17's with 40's should be fine and not screw anything up.

yargh, after all this work to find out about new tire sizes all they are like impossible to buy. 265/40/17 and 285/35/18 just about noone makes them except Pirelli ( they suck! ). Erg, the Michelin ones are like 1200 for a set of 4. x.x lol, i was looking to spend about like 700-800 not like 1200+.

Unless there is a better place to buy than from tirerack? I don't know, i'm going to cry
