Default TT2 look in chrome, any suggestions?

I was looking for a wheel similiar to the american racing torq thrust 2, but in chrome rather than polished. I know of the Crager SS but they're not quite what I want.....any suggestions.

Pics are a plus

Sorry I don't have pictures...
But TT2's are also offered in chrome.
Most people get polished because it is cheaper, lighter, and shines a little brighter once polished. But they are really high maintenence.
Personally I would rather do chrome myself.

The only the center of the TT2s are chrome the lips are still polished. When you look at them you can tell the difference too

Here's what TT2's look like in chrome:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ght=chrome+tt2
I actually tried to purchase these a while back but he traded them to someone more local.

01 Red WS6 is correct... It used to be that when you purchased TT2's from American Racing they sent them to their own little "custom shop" and chromed the center section only. So everything from the center out to the spokes was chrome, but the outer rim lip was still polished aluminum. It was like an additional $30 or so per wheel.

But... I tried to find them for you and it looks as though they might not offer chrome anymore. Summit seems to still carry the chrome 9.5" ones (part # ARE-C4057956170 ) but not the 11" ones anymore. Maybe if you try to contact one of the site sponsors like www.tomzwheels.com they might be able to help you out.

Damn! So does this mean that we have even fewer affordable 17x11" wheel options for us f-body guys?

They still offer the chrome version, but they don't list it as a option if you call AR they will give you the part number of the chrome wheels to order.

I just got off the telephone with American Racing. As I am in the wheel and tire business, I have an account with American Racing and sell their product.

THEY DO NOT offer the torque thrust 2 in chrome. As someone stated above, the cap has a chrome finish but the rest of the wheel is polished. If anyone is marketing chrome finish torque thrust 2 wheels, they have not been chrome finished by American Racing per their representative.

Hopefully, this will end the debate.

So I guess now the only chrome 17x11 option right now is the ZR1 replica. THAT SUCKS!
It looks like all of the wheel manufacturers want to put Pimp My Ride 20x 4's on everything so I highly doubt that we will ever see new offerings to the market either.

I will look up the price in the Morning and post. The wheels have a polised barrel and rim with chromed spokes. We had a set come through the shop last week and they are nice. There is a lag time as the special build shop shuts down for a couple of weeks for Christmas.

Well first let me make this clear is that i did not mean a fully chrome wheel. The spokes are chrome and the lip is polished. I don't deal with representives From AR but i do deal with the guys that run local AR warehouse... And as of 2 days ago they had the chrome TT2's in stock ready to go. i know this because i sold a set of those rims for a 99 TA when i go pick them up tomorrow i will make sure there chrome spokes and polished lip. They may not make them anymore but i know they do have them in stock.

FWIW: you can still get the polished rims and have them dipped in chrome if you want them so bad. When I can get time to find a picture host i will post my pics of my Fully CHROME TT2's that i had dipped by a buddy that owed me a favor.

any suggestions on chrome dipping shops. all of the wheel shops in memphis charge about $900 after taxes, but i'm betting i can cut that in half by cutting out the middle man.

It looks like a set of the Torq Thrust II's with the chrome spokes will run 1389 plus shipping. Between the chrome and being a special build they do not cut much of a discount.

Tom can you get just the center cap in chrome? I really like the flat caps but would rather have them in chrome. Shoot any cap in chrome would be good

I called American Racing and we may be able to dig up a set of the chrome caps. They run 22.50 each and around 8 shipping. Just let us know if we can do anything for you.
