Default BFH for 17x9.5?

Will the BFH or fender rolling be needed for a 17x9.5 wheel in front or rear? Also whats the widest tire that I could run on a 9.5 without the BFH or fender rolling? Thanks.

BFH should not be needed for 17x9.5's. And I think up to a 285/40/17 should be ok for tire sizes.

My TA has 285-40 17 BFG's on 17x9.5wheels 50mm offset all around and no rubbing anywhere. Stock height right now, but it will still be fine when it's lowered 1".

How does a 285 do up front? I would use a 275 but I think it looks to thin on a 9.5

It would be fine, but you must take into consideration that from tire maker to tire maker their widths change . . Why? I dunno, but the do.

For example a 275/40ZR17 Goodyear GSD3 is absolutely HUGE!, where as a cheap Nitto looks like a bicycle tire . . .

Well what tires would tuck in there nice but not be dead even with the wheel itself? I like the way 275s look on a 9 inch wheel but the extra .5 I think will take away the look.

Both my Camaros have 275's on 9.5" wide wheels. I think they look perfect.

I honestly feel you cannot go wrong with a 275/40ZR17 Goodyear F1 GSD3 on a 9.5" wheel.

My BFG KDW's look good too.

Do you have any pics from the side of the car/wheel so I can see how the tire looks? I'm EXTREMELY **** when it comes to how my car looks, any little thing would drive me crazy so I just would like to make sure before I purchase anything.

PM me your email addy and I'll send them to you. Another thing to remember is sidewalls on diff mfg tires will vary. Bridgestones RE730's have a rim protector and BFG KDWS's do not - so it looks a little flatter of a sidewall. BTW, whats the word on that trans?

Are you running the good year tires you spoke of? Your tires sit just right.

No, I am running BFG KDW on the Blue one and Kuhmo Ecsta MX on the Red one.

I only speak of the Good Years based upon what I've seen on cars at the shows.

Thanks for the responses. I have Kumhos know and think they are junk so that rules them out. I liked my old Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EPs
