I don't know if you can say "hands down M/T's". That's like asking "What is the best car?" My mom is going to say a BMV convertible, my dad is going to say an old Chevy pickup, etc.

M/T's are reputed to have by far the best grip. They're also the hardest to drive on the street (especially in bad weather) and don't last long at all.

Nitto's don't have as good of grip, but they make a much better daily driver, etc..........

It's all about what YOU need out of a tire. If your imaginary camaro is going to be driven mostly street and a little track, I'd probably go with the Nittos, or maybe a street tire and gets some M/T's on spare rims. If it's more of a weekend warrior and you don't want to run slicks because of the saftey precautions you need to have, get the M/Ts. There are other brands out there as well. Bottom line, just read up on some of the threads and you'll be able to make the best decision.

All the DR's are about $25 or less difference between MT's, Nittos and BFG's. For pure traction, MT's are king, but they kind of suck for street driving because of the real soft sidewall. I picked up 3 tenths with my MT's vs stock Goodyear F1 street tires.

Nittos are great for an everyday Street tire that will still perform at the track

MT's DRs only come in 275/40/17 and recommended rim size is 9.0-10.0" The ET Streets come in a 26x11.50x17 that is recommended on an 11" rim.

I prefer the BFG radials...to me they are a great middle ground. The Nittos have treadwear on their side, but they aren't the stickiest, and in my opinion, are too narrow for their listed sizes. The MT's kick ***...very sticky, wear out very quickly though. The BFG's hook better than the Nitto's, not quite as good as the MT's, but also don't wear quite as quickly. Treadwear still sucks, but to me it's still balanced enough to make sense for me.

The Nitto's are ok in the rain and have a so/so grip at the track depending on how much power you have. The M/T are alot stickier and hook great. No problems driving them on dry roads but I don't think they would like the wet roads much! I have both. The Nitto's are on my ZR1 wheels and the M/T are on my prostars. I think it really depends on what kind of driving you are doing or plan on doing with your car.
