15X10 7.5BS no grinding, besides Bogart???
Does anyone make a 15X10 7.5BS without using spacers or grinding? I know Bogart has the product but I'm not prepared to pay that kind of money if something else is available. Whats sad is that companies like Centerline and Weld say they have wheels that will fit and it ain't true from what I've found. I really like the Prostars but don't want to grind the calipers. Anybody got something that will work?

The reason I am apprehehensive about grinding is that I don't want to compromise the integrity of the calipers. GM would never over build the calipers if it weren't necessary IMO. That being said, how much has to be ground off and has there ever been a failure after doing this procedure? Thanks.

FWIW this is what Weld had to say.
David-
Now on the regular Pro Star you will have to grind the calipers to fit a 15x10 w/7.5” backspace. The part number is 96-510284. Without caliper modification you want to look at using our Aluma Star or Magnum Drag race wheel which has a larger inner barrel to fit over the brakes and the part number is 788-510284 or 786-510284 with a 7” backspace. Thank you for your interest in Weld Racing.
Thank you,

Hi Joel,
Thanks for getting back to me. Can you verify with your tech department that you do in fact have a Pro Star wheel 15X10 7.5BS that will for a fact fit '98-'02 Camaros without grinding the calipers down? Please let me know the part #. If this is true you will be flooded with orders, because Bogart in the past had the only wheel that made this possible. I really want to buy your Pro Stars.

Now a Magnum or Aluma Star you dont want to drive them on the street.... they are really light and bend easy.... now the fronts are 1 piece so if you bent it.. its done.. all u have is a $325 decoration... they can not be fixed....
FYI

GM really wouldnt, however, GM dosent make them. PBR does, and trust me, i've driven 50+k on my ground down " compromised" calipers, and they've seen many a 130-20 mph stops.

Weld wheels are not a direct fit for an LS1 F-body.
The weld Alumastar 2's are very nice wheels...still not a direct fit...you'll soon find out our wheel setup is actually LESS expensive then their setup. Very nice wheels I have to say. The Alumastar 2's are MUCH nicer looking and also higher quality then their prostars. Our Bogart wheels used on the F-bodies are only of the highest quality and we design them specifically for the F-body.
You either need to pull out the grinder, purchase long studs and by welds economy line prostars, try the centerlines (though heaviest of drag wheels out there and not offered in the correct backspace) or spend slightly more money, or in my opinion do it right for an oem setup and purchase our wheels.
We do have a solution, they are not more money due to the fact we have exclusively have a very good solution...they are more expensive then economy wheels since the material is higher quality/more expensive the workmanship is better they are lighter and they are finished to show-like.
Attached is a recent setup we built for a customer. I think most will agree the wheels look fantastic. I tell this to folks all the time...wheels make a car, why skimp on something that is so visible and creates the whole car-image. There are performance advantages too, why not?
I think if you look at a whole for any high-end wheel...our custom wheels are actually a very good bargain. Re-sell value is very high...not too often you can actually use something for a year and pretty much sell them for what you purchased them for.
I am not telling anyone that if you don't purchase our products, your making a poor decision. Each person does have to make their own decision on what suits them best. I do want to point out there are large differences in an economy wheel and a high-end wheel...Our wheels are typically ~30% lighter then a prostar or draglite setup fwiw.
I am very passionate about our products and believe in them. I do feel that we do have the best solution at the best prices in the drag wheel market.

Please click our "click here to e-mail us" link and fill out a few short comments on your car's setup. Since we custom design the wheels and do not have part numbers, we build them to suit. I need to see what your goals are, any mods on the car regarding braking and rear...
The particular setup I posted was just completed, it was a custom setup with a custom length rear end we setup and I built the wheels around his needs.

Rich Bogart does not choose to pay for the SFI sticker.
Many wheels have been FEA (finite element analysis) model tested in addition to other stress test applications most importantly real world testing. If you are running in a class that needs the sticker (most do not..none in the F-body community i'm aware of requires SFI approval necessary)
We're talking generally VERY VERY fast cars that REQUIRE a sticker for a particular class. If you are in one of those elite classes then you have to choose a brand that retains the SFI sticker (the ones in those classes generally don't pay for wheels themselves...their sponsers do:-). I would put our wheels up any similar test in comparison to other drag wheels.
