Default nitto vs. bfg: dialy driver- personal experience please

anyone run both? what kind of mileage did u obtain from the bfg's compared to the nittos. my nittos are getting thin with only 4500 miles on them. this is the first set ive had go this quick, usually i get about 10k. my only experience with bfg's are on my track wheels which are going to wear out quick with all the burnouts.

We have the BFG KDW-II's with 7k miles on them and plenty of tread left. I really like the way these tires have performed and how the car handles with them.

With the car in the sig, I got 15,000 miles out of my Nitto 555Rs and only 6,000 miles out of BFG DRs. Tire size was 305/35/18 and 315/30/18 respectively. On both mileage #s, the tread in the center of the tire was completely gone, and the outsides were almost completely flat. So 6,000 miles on the BFGs is really stretching it as it is on the Nittos at 15,000. The BFGs also SUCK in any type of water. The Nittos you can actually maintain some control.

From what I hear, the M/T DRs get less mileage than the BFGs

When I drove home my A4 car a few months ago (on Nitto 555R's), I was shocked at how well the Nittos did in the last 1.5 hours in the rain (with a 3500, 2.5 STR converter too!). In a mix of city streets and highway, the car stayed planted during quick lane changes while accelerating, turning etc. Since the key here is 'daily driver', Nittos all the way.

My first set of Nitto DR's lasted me about 10K miles, which included track visits and some healthy burnouts. The center did wear out a whole lot faster than the edges, probably due to the psi I ran them at (26-28). I also ran a set of BFG DR's on some 16" stockers for a while, and they don't even come close to lasting as long as the Nittos. You can literally see them start wearing out after driving them a few miles, especially in this south Texas heat. I will say one thing though, the BFG's hook up much better than the Nittos. So, if you need a tire that will last you 10K miles, Nittos are the way to go (assuming you're talking about drag radials).

my nittos have about 5k miles on them and about 15 track passes with pretty long burnouts, although they've worn down a bit they still have plenty of life left on them and i've driven on them in the rain too, they're better than i thought especially for daily driving...i've had friends with bfgs and the first thing they say about bfgs for daily driving is that they wear out quickly...i say go with nittos

My 555r's lasted about 15k miles total, but I wore 'em til the end. They held up AWESOME in the rain. plus 555r's in 315s have less of a chance of rubbing compared to the 315 BFGs since the nittos run small.

nitto 555 are some of the best I've used just don't use them in the snow. In the rain at 70- 80mph they stuck pretty nicely.

I have a friend who bought some of the MT DR's..... they lasted 1 weekend.... he went out friday night and drove home(about 30 miles both ways to where we went) and drove to the track sunday and back(about 75 miles to and fro) and he claimed they were almost slick when he got back home.

I have them both...i had my nitto's on for every day driving and drag racing...
i put about 6k miles on them with 50 or so track passes before i put new rims on the car. i still use the nittos for track and they still have atleast half their life remaining.

i know have the bfg drag radials on the new rims and they have on ly been on there for about 1k miles...no signs of wear as of yet but i do know they will wear alot quicker than the nittos. they are alot softer which makes them hook better but you'll get less tread.

on a daily driven car i would go with nittos...you should get atleast 12-15kmiles out of a set of nittos with daily track and normal driving. goodluck.

I want to say I'm a little over 10k on my 555r's. The centers are almost smooth but I can still see the lines a bit.
