Can slicks be patched or pluged?

I ran over a screw with my ET DRAGS!

It went threw the middle of the tire. I don't want to run tubes!

No. The tire is no longer safe for use.

"Competition" tires aren't made to withstand the same rigors as a regular street tire. Once punctured, the little integrity that they did have is gone. I wouldn't run it on my personal car.

i know a guy that ran a plug in his slicks the whole season and never had a problem

I dunno.. I still wouldn't take the chance..

Freind had a hole in one of his DR's, plugged it, next time at the track he ripped the plug out on a launch. If you were going to keep the tire, I would patch it.

i wouldn't do it if they were my street tires but a extra set of rims with the dr i wouldn't see a prob
