Those with Nittos come in.... I will be putting a 3500 stall in soon and I know I'm going to need some good tires. I mostly go back and forth to work....2 miles. I do appreciate a spirited jaunt from time to time (Don't we all 
) and I will race occasionally. Are these a decent tire for daily driving. I want to ba able to hook, but I want them to last for a while too (understanding of course that longevity and drag radial are not synonomous!). What can those who have them tell me about traction and longevity. Thanks.

What can those who have them tell me about traction and longevity. Thanks. They will last longer than the other DR's. But may not stick at well. I used to have some on my car when I had the Vigilante 3,200 in it. I ran the 275/40/17. With 17 psi in them and heated well it hooked on a well prepped track. My best 60' on them was a 1.63, and my best 60' ever was a 1.62 on 26/10.5/16 ET Streets.
the nitto dr's need some heat to have them hook nicely, if they are cold you could easily spin them. as far as driveability their great im on my 2nd set and i used to drive 60 miles roundtrip to work on the turnpike everyday, their also great in the rain, i never had an issue with hydroplaining, but of course when it rained i was taking it easy. They lasted me about 15k miles which was actually 6 months becaue of the distance i drove.
If you want a set that will hook like a champ cold or hot, and you dont care about rain driveability, get BFG DR's, they last a little less than the nittos, but they hook alot better.

I agree with what the other posters are saying about Nitto DR's, but they are definitely the best compromise for constant use. They offer much better traction than street tires, and much better road handling and tire life than other DR's. It's like 15,000 miles for Nittos, compared to 5,000 miles for BFGs, I think. I've heard the BFGs will get a little squirrely on the street...not as bad as MTs though. I saw one guy just coming back from the track one night, completely lose it. His car got major squirrely and he lost control and almost hit about 3 different cars!

IMO, the Nitto's are the only real street drag radials.

I agree with most of the above. I started using nitto 315's on all corners for open track events and loved them so much I kept them on the car for daily driving. I found that they last best at ~ 30 psi and handle the best laterally at about 24 psi hot. In rain I drive like slowww and have fishtailed several times just going through puddles.
