Default Nitto DR street pressure

What kind of pressure are you guys running on the street?

I just got them mounted today(275/40/17). Right now they are at 28lbs. They seem ok at that pressure although it feels like they are rolling over a little when pushed through corners.

Now, I know they are the drag radials and not the road race tires, but I am looking for the best handling pressure for the street, without causing uneven wear if I can help it.

Thanks for any input.

I ran 35 in the last pair I had while cruising arounf, and aired them down to 24 when I headed out to the local spot. They hooked a little better with lower air pressure, but not too much difference in traction.

I always ran mine around 20psi all the time and the car still handled fine. Most people report the center wearing out fast over 28psi or so. I'm sure you could run them at 25psi and still be fine.

Thanks for the input so far.

I may try dropping them down to 25psi, as I don't want to wear out the middle of the tire. My goal on the street is to keep them from getting squishy under cornering loads.

I'll be getting to the track hopefully soon to see how much of an improvement there is over the F1's.

24 here, and 24 on the RII's as well ( rear ). 29-32 for the front in RII flavor. When autox, 34-36 hot psi in the front and 30 hot psi in the rear. At these pressures, the temps across the face of the tire are within 5 degrees.

mcflyz28 took the words right out of my mouth.
I have 315s and run 22 psi.
I'm pretty much getting the whole patch on the ground.
At the track I run them down to 15 and add or subtract air depending on conditions and all that jazz.

But I will say early of a morning (usually in the 40s this time a year) they feel square-like
it takes a couple of blocks down the road before they feel round again.

23psi here on my 315's. Any more and the center will wear out before the sides.

I don't run mine daily so they have been fine. Lasted 2 years so far plus my car is pretty heavy.

20-22 on my 315's. Pretty much all tread is touching evenly.
