Default drag radials for daily driver

I am planning on buying some drag radials for my daily driven car in sig. I was wondering which ones will be the best for my application. I don't go to the track I just like to run occasionally on the street. I would be looking for a drag tire that is safe in the rain (not necessarily hook) just be safe. What are drag radial characteristics on the highway (long drives)? I am seriously considering the BFG drag radial 2 in a 255/50/16. What do you guys think?

Drag radials DO NOT LIKE RAIN! Buy a cheap set of wheels for the tires and just swap them on when you go to the track. Also, you would probably only get 5k on drag radials AT MOST.

most people say nittos last about 10-15k miles depending how you drive on them
mickey thompsons i guess dont last very long but the hook the best and if you have a 6 speed those would be the best way to break your 10 bolt then you would have an excuse to upgrade to a 9 inch

I had some Nitto's on my old car and they didn't do very bad in the rain at all (but you have to drive accordingly). A friend of mine had the BFG's, and they didn't do worth a crap in the rain, so he bought Nitto's and tried to sell me his BFG's. The Nitto's that I had already had about 9k with alot of track time on them, and I put about 4k more on them, and they still could have been driven longer, I just took them off to sell the car.

BFG's for dd would be bad. Go with the Nitto's. You lose a little in traction when compared to the BFG's but the Nitto's are far better for rain and handling.

I got caught out in the rain with my BFG DRs. The car was very unsafe and dangerous to drive. This was a big rainpour not a light shower.

I never had a problem with my Nittos in the rain. I didn't commute on the highway every day though. I got about 15,000 miles out of mine. The Nitto is probrably the only DR I would consider for a daily driver that sees wet weather.
