Default done with the racing going for looks

Hi i used to be a fan of racing with my camaro and use my honda for the car shows, but i got tired of people at these shows telling me u cant make an american car look better then imports .Well i decided to give it a shot i just bought 20 inch rims for my ss changed the spoiler for the gtr one and im droping it 1.75,also ordered the venice bodykit, gona put 4 15inch speaker elimanating the back seats and was wondering with this set up can i still keep hooking up for speed or is all this gona cause me to not be able to get more mods for speed ?

Sounds to me like you are starting off like a person would if they were modding a Ricer. 20" wheels, not a good choice if you want to impress other F-Body owners. They make f-bodies look like crap in MHO. Why do you need 4 subwoofers? Get the box that slips in the driver side hole in the back and be done with it. The more weight you put in the car, the slower it will go, not to mention, you will have lots of problems hooking up with dubs.

IF it's going to be a show car, why not go crazy. Just remember what fly's for a Honda doesn't always work for American Muscle.

Agreed the 20's are not the way to go...18s IMO are the biggest you can go without looking "funny" and having a wheel that isn't the same shape around as the wheel well.

I dont know guys, i tried some 19 and 20's that my dad had on his vette, and they looked pretty good. It all depends on the wheel.

Thats actualy a pic of them in my sig. and, definatly dont do the body kit, those look horrible on a camaro. You need to decide who you are trying to gain the respect of:

If you are trying to gain the respect of the import group by ricing out your camaro then go for the body kit (but dont paint the body kit, keep it in primer), get some 5" fart cans with flame exhaust, put a wing on top of your other wing, some multi-colored neons, and add some stickers (i heard they add up to 50 horses each!).

Ok, jokes aside, a domestic car should not be used to impress import people, cause it will just look goofy. You have a Bad A american beast, and trick it out like a Bad A american beast should be! You can have a healthy mix of power and performance. Nothing looks sexier than a supercharger under the hood with some phat headers! Then, you could pull off a 18 and 20 inch combo with lowering it, other prefer 18's, its up to you. Then maybe some racing stripes or manta stripes, those both look awesome. You could do the whister mod and smoke the headlights. Billet grills look awesome as well. Just look around at some of the pics guys have of their cars on here and you can get some great ideas!

Plus on the side: IMO nothing is more impressive than someone with a sweet looking ride pulling up off the street to the drag stip, beating the crap out of all the other cars, then driving home.

Just an observation okay? And take this for what it's worth: usually, when people are jealous of some aspect of your car, they will find another aspect that could be considered desirable and throw it up in your face that you're "lacking" in that department. The majority of people buy a car for the purpose of either making it fast or making it look good, but VERY few are actually able to do both. I guarantee that you're hearing all this BS from the ricer crowd because they know they'd get killed by a Camaro in a race so the only option they have left that makes them still feel competitive is the "who's got a prettier face" angle. Weak.

It's wayyy too easy to get caught up in the "being all things to all people" mentality. The bottom line though is that you're always going to have critics no matter WHAT you do. If you like the way your car looks and how it performs, then that's all that really matters. Next time one of these riceboys pops off about how your car isn't as "pretty" as theirs, be sure to make a public display of handing them their *** in a race. Then call it even.

this camaro is doomed, poor thing.

seriously tho, as evryone else has said....that venice body kit, 4 15s, and 20 inch rims are not meant for American Muscle. Maybe 18's up front and 19's out back , that always looks good. If you want a body kit that is unique but not too ricey, go with the Vizage kit, they look real good IMO. If you're wanting 15's the most you'll need is 2....with a good amp to push them, you wouldnt wanna goany louder. those 15's are gonna weight you down, but it's better than having 4 of them...the music can only get soloud before its unenjoyable, and 2 15s would be plenty loud and more.

Looks are all a matter of opinion...

If someone came to me with the baddest civic in the world... I still wouldn't like it nearly as well as I like cars like a SS, WS6, viper, & Z06. Because that is what I like and what I choose as my own car as well. It would be a waste of time trying to convince me that those POS FWD cars looked better no matter how much money was tossed into the blackhole.

So by that same reasoning.... why even try to make them like your car? The vast majority aren't going to just because of what it is.
