Default What size tires can I put on factory 16x8 camaro snowflakes??

I am looking to get drag radials and I have two 16 in snowflake camaro wheels. I have been told that the 16 inch wheels would hook better that 17's. What is the widest/biggest tire that I can safely put on those camaro wheels??

Mickey Thompson says a 26X11.5R16 requires a 10" wheel.

So the 255/50/16's are my only option? I guess MT DR's will hook good enough even if they are smaller tires. I have full exhaust and 150 shot nitrous.

Mickey Thompson has a 27X10.5X16 that qualifies for a 8" wheel, the only problem is that will change your gear ratio somewhat. I've got MT 275/40/17 Street Radials and launches over about 3,000 rpm cause them to really spin. I loaned them to a friend of mine and he had the same problem. I'm going to slicks as soon a Weld or Centerline comes out with a 15X10 wheel that will fit out cars without grinding.

I'll get those wheels too if they come out with some that don't require grinding. I shouldn't have bad problems spinning. I had nitto's before all the bolton's and nitrous. The nitto's did good for me then, but now I need something better. The tires are going on a spare set of rims, so I don't have to worry about the rain or milage.
