Default Is chrome worth the maintenance?

Im about ready to buy my wheels & think chrome looks the best for my red z. While I was talking with the salesman he mentioned chrome can peel, flake or chip as opposed to other types of finishes. Do you guys think chrome is a decent finish or not?

Thanks

Cheap chrome has problems. You should be fine with a good chrome wheel. They're actually easy to keep up with.

Good chrome requires little maintenance.
I Zaino my wheels once in the spring, and that helps keep them clean.
Over time, cleaning them removes the Zaino, but one re-do a year is sufficient.

It can't be any worse than polished. Those are horrid to keep clean.

Good chrome wheels are the easiest to keep clean. I use Meguier's Gold Class Chrome wheel cleaner works amazing if you keep up with washing the car regularly. Let it sit on there for a minute and hose it off, shines them up very well.

Yeah. chrome is easier to keep clean especially good chrome. It won't flake for years unless it wasn't properly done.

polished aluminum WHEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED is hard to tell from chrome. the thing is, it is VERY hard to keep polished aluminum looking its best, whereas chrome requires very VERY little maintenance, as stated. that being said, chrome is tough to beat, jsut make sure u dont get a ghetto finish, it may cost more but in the end its totally worth it.

I probably won't ever get any more polished aluminum wheels. I don't have time to keep them looking good. Chrome or powedercoated/painted for me from now on.
