Surprisingly stock like! Now I know all that could change if lowering is attempted but that is not in my plans for now.

Default tires

a friend of mine has 315/35/17 and they appear to be a 40 series I'm thinking when you go up in width the tire grow's taller (increasing the appearance of the series # but they are still 35 series)

You guys have the whole series thing all wrong. The way you read that is if you have a 275/40 that means your tire height or sidewall is 40% of what the width is. If you have a 315/35 then your tire height is 35% of what the width is. So you see how even though the series is smaller it can still have just as much sidewall as a tire that is smaller in width and has a bigger series number. That is how it has always been explained to me anyway.

More or less right. That's why a 315/35-17 is the same height as a 275/40-17.

Default tires

my friend with the 315/35/17 his car is lowered but they rub on inside of fender.

I'm planning on going with 285/35/18 on rear if the clearance looks ok then maybe grow into a 295/35/18.

ok here it is guys.

1st# (275) = width in millemeters
2nd# (40) = percentage of width equals sidewal height. (dont forget u have sidewall on both sides on the rim)
3rd# (17) = rim diameter

to get tire height divide #1 by 25.4 (metric conversion) than multiply by #2 (as percentage .40 etc.) than multiply that by 2 (sidewall on both sides of rim) and add #3

walla

They rub because they are a wider tire than 275/40's...
