Default Drag wheels FAQ!! Pics

This is for a 15x10 drag wheels, and Hoosier 28"11.5" tires. (some of the pics here are not mine)

well first of all Im the kind of person who likes to upgrade my car instead of taking pieces off that will
make it unsafe to drive.. But in my case and most of the guys out there, we cant afford a new set of breaks and bunch of stuff more just to put the wheels on right? so the mods I got to deal with are basically 3: grind the calipers, install new studs (I actually didnt need to install studs right away, but Is required when using spacers) and clearance the inner fender so the tire do not rub...
So with the calipers the idea is to create a continuous radius, most of the grinding is done at the top and the bottom of the brackets I used white acrilic paint to put on the grinded part and put the wheel on to see where you need to keep grinding, I actually did this tons of times to remove the exact amount, but using spacers will help to cut down the amount of grinding. I used 1/8 and some other guys use 5/16", In most cases" using spacers in the front (5/16") require no caliper grinding. (but longer studs as soon as you can)
To Clearance the Inner fender I used a big hammer and hit the hell our of the fender wall- -, The real problem was the bump stop and the rear control arm the tire kept rubbing there until I took it to a place and have them fix the problem also rubbing on the rear arms on the turns so I replaced them for jegsters adjustables.

Please note that All these mods just gave me time to get new set of brakes, studs, etc...
K I hope this thread helps , and drive safe guys

What kind of lca's are in the 5th pic down? Also, did you have to do any fender/bumper trimming to fit the 28"s? What's the backspacing on the rims? Thanks

is all that work like grinding the calipers and clearing the inner fender for both the front and rear wheels??.....from the pictures it looks like its just for the back tires and not the front

the 28"s fit perfect no (fender/bumper) mods, the back space on those 15x10s is 7.5, the control arms are
These
and in the front nothing else but grind

I believe those are Billingsley LCA's. Those are the ones I run and love them. Offset for big tires, chromoly, rod ended, and very quiet on the street.

How noisy are the solid offset lowers with heim joints in them compared to stockers?

Are you asking about the Billingsley ones? If so, they are actually surprisingly quiet. I honestly cannot tell a difference between them and the stockers as far as noise, unless I hit a pothole or something. Whe I do hit a pothle its pretty loud inside the car, but then again that is expected when you have an all rod-ended rear suspension.

Is it normal that most of the lower rear arms are noisy? because I got jegsters and the drivers side one makes more noise than the other one

So you're still running the bump stops?
