problem with chrome y2k rims

ok i have a set of c5 y2k rims chrome. the problem is the inside of the rims the chrome is comming off and looks like crap. anysuggestions on how to fix it or can i paint them on the in side and if so how to. i can afford new rims this year due to divorce

My C5's are starting to to the same thing. I was thinking of sanding the inside of the rim down so it was smooth, masking off all the chrome on the outside of the rim and painting the inside of the wheel black. im not sure how it will look but I imagine it has got to look better than chipped chrome.

yup and i have no clue what to use to sand them down i was thinking black inside also

I have the same problem with my rims. I was thinking of Powdercoating the inside? Painting sounds like a good way to go, so i might do that because the cost is a lot less. Let me know how yours turn out.

I have a question. are the y2k rims aluminum or magnesium.

mine are 2003 rims off of a vette. and what were the finish options on those wheels ie chrome polished and painted???
