Default TT2s questions

I know TT2 are poloshed instead of chrome, so how hard are they to keep clean and how bad do they age?
I love the way they look but i cant decide if i want to get the 17" TT2s with the 315s out back or just get 255 drag radials on my 16" stock wheels, I want to be able to hook good on the street and the strip
What do you guys think I should do?

I have TT2's on my third gen and I love them, they are 15's now but plan on swapping to 17's once the LT1 is running. Anyway they are a pain in the *** to keep clean but it's well worth it, everytime I'd get the wheels wet from the rain or a puddle the shine would fade. I ended up getting Mothers polish and the polish swab thing and it does wonders on these wheels. They are very nice and I'd recommend them to anyone because you can't beat the old school look of 5 spoke aluminum wheels

I've had my wheels for 4 years now but the fronts are older because I bought them used. If you polish them up at least once a month and wash them often then they will look good for a long time. I've used a lot of different polishes and found the ones I like best and honestly I think my wheels look better now then they did when they were new.

I was looking at getting them from TomZ WheelZ with the Summuntoz(bad spelling) 315s, how would they compare to 255 drag radials as far as hooking up? would losing the sidewall going from 16" to 17" hurt performance?

I just got the TTII's, but with the BFG DR and the KDW's. It's a few hundred more but worth the additional traction.

I only polish mine every couple months. Just wash them with the car, and wash them last. It will keep them looking nice.

Things that will dirty them fast are:

1. Rain (leaving spots that hide the shine)
2. Brake dust
3. Road dirt

Basically it depends how much, and when you drive the car.

I hooked better on a 16" nitto drag than I do on my 315 gs-d3s. Drag radials just get you more traction. Also, I have a friend with sumitomos (16") on his z28 that can lift the front tires when leaving the line, so suspension has a lot to do with it. If you have a stock suspension, you cant beat the traction of a good drag radial.

How much more exactly would it be if I got the BFG KDW's in the fronts and the BFG DR's in the back compared to the Sumitumhos?

Default TT2s

I've had 4 sets of TT2s -17's and 18's currently. Everytime I try something new I go back to TT2s. Just can't shake that musclecar look, and the ability to buy wide rears.

Just get a mother's aluminum polish ball and polish them everytime you change the oil or 3 months or so. W/ the ball and mother's aluminum polish it won't take you 30 minutes to do the entire set.

Buy them at Tomzwheels for sure!!!!!!! Tires at Discount Tire Direct!!!

Sponsors have them, check it out!
